About the fundraiser:

Local artist Janna Stirk painted a picture of the solar eclipse and had a goal in mind: she wanted to give back to local organizations through the sale of her eclipse print. To get the community involved, she went onto social media and asked her followers, “Which local (Albion) non-profit is the most important to you and why?”

Numerous community members expressed the importance of Hospice of Orleans in the care of their loved ones at the end of life. Janna reached out to let us know that we have been chosen as one of the local nonprofits to receive proceeds from the sale of her donated eclipse prints.

Several businesses in the county will be selling Janna’s 5x7 prints with proceeds going to local nonprofit organizations. Each business selling the prints has signage indicating the nonprofit organization that will receive proceeds by purchasing from their location. Currently, the businesses donating to Hospice of Orleans include Gilligan’s Galley, The Parlour, and Wild Flour Deli and Bakery.

Hospice of Orleans is also selling the eclipse prints for $5 each and proceeds will go toward patient care services.
